The Great Pyramid of Giza — the only surviving wonder of the ancient world — stands on the city's edge, 4,500 years old and still the most extraordinary structure humans have ever built. Best Time for Pyramids

Arrive at the Giza Plateau at 7–8am as the site opens — before the tour coaches arrive at 9–10am. Our Cairo itineraries always schedule the Pyramids first thing in the morning for this reason.

How Long for GEM

Plan 4–6 hours for the Grand Egyptian Museum. For the Tutankhamun galleries alone, allow 2 hours minimum. Combining GEM with the Pyramids in one day is possible — they are 2 kilometres apart.

Best Season

October through April: 14–26°C, perfect for outdoor sites. Summer (June–August) is very hot at the Pyramids (38–44°C) but manageable with early starts. The GEM is air-conditioned and excellent year-round.
