Each pyramid served as the final resting place for a king of the 4th Dynasty: the Great Pyramid of Giza was built for King Khufu, while the others were constructed for his son Khafre and grandson Menkaure. Khufu’s pyramid remains both the oldest and largest of the three, and it held the title of the tallest man-made structure for an astounding 3,800 years!
Lunch break at a local restaurant
