"This is where I like to slow down. Most visitors rush past it for the Sphinx, but the stonework here is some of the oldest fine masonry in Egypt," says Maro.
Lunch
A relaxed lunch stop at a local restaurant near the plateau, several of which offer rooftop or terrace seating with the pyramids visible in the background. A good chance to sit down, rehydrate, and reflect on the morning before heading back.
"I like ending the tour this way — sitting down with a proper meal and still looking at the pyramids is a nice way to close things out," Maro notes.
